Our Helps Center Groups provide many much needed services to those that are passing through some difficult storms (situations) in their life. This includes services and support to the Homeless, Single Mothers and especially to the Women and their Children that have been left behind by a husband who has been sent to prison. Most people do not realize that the majority of these left behind spouses are left behind in a prison of their own. Not one behind bars but one of the world. The Helps Center Groups will also provide support to the incarcerated once they are released back into society.
Here is a brief description of some of the services and support that the Helps Center Groups will provide...
Transportation Assistance:
Help with Transportation assistance and/or finances for the women and their children to be able to make regular visitation trips so they are able to spend some time with their husbands and fathers. The Helps Center Groups will also help with securing bus passes to get to and from work.
Support Groups/Church Service:
The Helps Center Groups will have Support Groups during the week for the spouses of the incarcerated to share with others that are going through and understand the same trials they are dealing with. Anyone may attend these support groups even if they do not have a spouse that is incarcerated. The Groups will teach them how to rely on God for guidance and help them grow in Christ during their time of trail. The Church service will be Internet based and will teach on the basics of the Bible and the Biblical ways and importance of a marriage. The Church service will provide a basic bible study where they can learn about God and how to receive Jesus Christ into their life. It will show them with Christ in their life, they can have a stronger marriage with their husband once he is back at home or how Jesus Christ can help them through their difficult situations. The Helps Center Groups will also stay in contact with the inmate through Pen Pal programs and Inmate Newsletters. We will be explaining to them the importance of growing their life with Christ while they are away and explain to them how we are helping their family do the same on the outside.
Children:
The Helps Center Groups will help with school supplies, birthdays, Christmas presents and current trend clothing for the children. It will help provide or locate a mentor for the boys and girls that have to deal with not having a Dad or Mom to take them to the ball game or shopping mall.
Job/Computer Training:
The Helps Center Groups will help the women left behind and the incarcerated (once they are released back into society) locate jobs, provide basic job training on how to interview and get hired for employment, how to start a small business and basic computer training. The Helps Center Group will solicit hiring managers from local companies to come and speak at the training sessions. These training sessions are also available to people that have lost their jobs and need help in these types of assitances.
Housing Assistance:
The Helps Center Groups will help locate affordable housing for the left behind family members and for the incarcerated that do not have family left when they return and need help finding a place that will rent to them without any references or with a criminal record.
Furniture – Clothing - Tools:
The Helps Center Groups will help obtain or get basic furniture and clothing for the left behind women and children. It will also help the incarcerated obtain work tools and clothing for different types of trades once they are released and ready to go back to work.
Handyman Services:
The Helps Center Groups will help the left behind spouses with fix it jobs around the house and help with auto repairs. When the husband is gone, the wife may need someone to help change the A/C filters, fix the sink, mow the lawn or change the oil in the car.
24/7 Prayer Support:
FreshStart Fellowship will have someone available 24 hours per day, 7 days per week for those times that you are struggling with the pressures of the World and just needing a shoulder to cry on or someone to talk to and pray for you. We also have available a 24 hour Internet Radio Station to be able to receive messages of Hope & Encouragement through inspirational messages and Music throughout the day and night time hours.
